No more offices?

Our world is changing, it always has been, but with the ongoing digital transition it's very rapidly impacting our daily life's and the inherent structures. Never before so many innovations, so quickly, found themselves on a route into our common usage. Some people may therefore argue that in this digital era we could very well use our laptops Wi-fi and mobile phone to work solely from home.

Even though there are a lot of advantages, like less commuting and the ability to spend more time on your work, which I've thoroughly experienced when I worked in corporate business. On the contrary to those positive changes it's best we also stay conscious of the fact that we humans are essentially emotional beings.

A sense of purpose and inherently personal connection with others is what gives many of our lives meaning. I so forth consider it to be of the utmost importance we - while indeed making our lives more efficient and comfortable - do keep the human perspective the most primary one.

Making sure our innovations serve us and don't replace us to a point where we've unforeseeably surpassed ourselves and our fragile nature becoming trapped in a sea of (distant) data we can't comprehend. Clutters our brains and so forth the functionality of general society.

In conclusion I suggest we use our ability to understand and investigate on a more widespread basis, more actively involve social sciences and invest more time and attention into integrally designing our space, future and society following sensible principles.

So we can enjoy these things but also get to maintain being so very human and sometimes stand still, to in peace be amazed by all the beautiful things life offers, that have not been touched by man's hand.
